DSWD releases 1st unconditional cash transfer for 4Ps beneficiaries

CEBU CITY — Beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Central Visayas can now withdraw their PHP2,400 Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) grants for 2018 through LandBank automated teller machines.

The UCT grants for Pantawid beneficiaries who have LandBank cash cards were released Tuesday, Department of Social Welfare and Development – 7 (Central Visayas) Regional Director Ma. Evelyn Macapobre announced Wednesday.

Macapobre said that Pantawid beneficiaries with cash cards would be the first batch to receive the UCT as it is easier for LandBank to facilitate the transfer of funds.

She also assured that the remaining Pantawid beneficiaries, including senior citizen pensioners, who are under the over-the-counter or offsite payment scheme, will soon receive their UCT subsidies.

The UCT scheme was created by the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law, which seeks to provide its 10 million beneficiaries with cash subsidies of PHP200 per month.

The PHP2,400 released to the beneficiaries is their cash subsidy for the entire 2018.

DSWD-7 records show there are 56,291 Pantawid beneficiaries who have active LandBank cash cards in Central Visayas – 34,724 from Cebu, 17,445 from Negros Oriental, 3,903 from Bohol, and 219 from Siquijor. (Luel Galarpe/PNA)
