The DSWD also reminded driver-beneficiaries to bring their valid driver’s license and one photocopy on the payout site. For faster verification, the name on their ID must be the same on the list provided by their respective local government units.

The special payout is in line with the commitment of DSWD Sec. Rex Gatchalian that all qualified PUV drivers in the National Capital Region should receive the cash aid and with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure that no public transport driver will be left behind.

On Wednesday, the DSWD, through its field offices, began distributing the P5,000 cash relief assistance for tricycle drivers outside Metro Manila.

In an interview on Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, DSWD spokesperson Asec. Irene Dumlao said that a second wave of the cash aid is already in the pipeline to ensure continuous support to transport workers affected by persistent fuel price increases.

Gatchalian also met with financial technology companies and electronic money institutions to discuss the planned disbursement of the next tranches of cash relief assistance via e-money and mobile wallets.
