DTI eyes 24-hour operations for food establishments

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is eyeing the easing of restrictions on restaurants and fast food establishments by permitting operations for 24 hours.

In a public briefing, DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez has stated that local government units will be asked (LGUs) to lift the curfew hours of food establishments to provide service for graveyard shift employees. But the DTI is leaving the decision regarding the number of customers allowed in an establishment to the LGUs.
