DTI releases school supplies’ SRP ahead of class opening

The Department of Trade and Industry on Friday, Aug.12, released the suggested retail price (SRP) table for school supplies in preparation for the upcoming resumption of classes this month.

The said SRP table will serve as a guide for consumers in comparing prices when purchasing school products in the market.

 

For notebooks, the SRP ranges from P17.50 to P164.75, while pad papers are priced from P14.00 to P50.00. The SRP of pencil also ranges from P8.25 to P27.00 and ball pens from P7.75 to P32.00.

For crayons, price ranges depending on pieces per box.

An eight-piece crayon box should cost P18.00 to P27.00 while the SRP for a 12-piece box is P32.00. A 16-piece box of crayons should cost around P33.75 to P49.00 and a 24-piece box from P45.75 to P69.00.

Meanwhile, sharpeners should be priced between P14.00 and P54.00 and rulers between P13.00 and P39.00.

The DTI also issued guidelines when buying school supplies including pad papers, crayons, pencils, and ballpens.  -ag
