Solidum is new DOST chief

Press Secretary Trixie Cruz- Angeles confirmed on Friday, Aug.12, the appointment of Renato Umali Solidum Jr. as the new secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

“He is a geologist who has worked with Phivolcs and is currently Undersecretary of the DOST for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation,” Angeles said in a statement. 

 

Solidum served as the director of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology. –KC/ag
