PRRD appoints Velasco, Salamat as MWSS board members

By Joyce Ann L. Rocamora/Philippine News Agency

Malacañang announced the appointment of retired Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Salamat and Reynaldo Velasco as members of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System’s (MWSS) board of trustees.

Salamat and Velasco’s appointment papers were signed over the weekend, as seen from the list of presidential appointees released by Malacañang on Wednesday.

Salamat recently served as the Armed Forces of the Philippines Northern Luzon Command chief while Velasco is currently performing as the MWSS administrator on hold-over capacity after his term expired on June 30.

The appointment of the two officials came after the problematic water service interruptions that earlier gripped parts of Metro Manila.
