President Rodrigo Duterte said on the latest taped interview with Erwin Tulfo in “Sa Totoo Lang” Thursday night that the drop in his satisfaction and trust rating from the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey does not really matter to him as he was just doing his job from the beginning.
“It does not really matter to me kasi lahat ng ginagawa ko, those were exactly the words that I used during the campaign,” the President said.
“I am not hungry for statistics. Tapos na po iyan. Yung 16 million ko (voters), yun na po yung statistics ko,” he added.
During the interview, the president stated that he must fulfill all the good things and commit to all the promises he pledged to the Filipino people.
“I have to honor what I promised because that is my covenant with the people,” Duterte said.
“Eh sinabi ko na ho. Pati lahat ng mga mura ko, kasali na doon. Wala na kong tinago,” he added.
Duterte also clarified that all the works he did, especially in terms of fixing the government, were just part of eliminating the corruption under his administration, so as to illegal drugs and those who want to destroy the country.
“And when I said that I will stop or minimize corruption which I’m doing, I have fired so many government employees..pati dito sa Malacañang, dalawa and there’s more about two to come tomorrow. Talagang yung sinabi kong ayaw ko ng corruption, ayaw ko ng corruption,” Duterte stated.
“Tapos sabi ko, ayaw ko ng droga, talagang ayaw ko ng droga. At yung sinasabi kong taong sisira ng bayan ko, talagang papatayin ko kayo. At kung sisirain mo mga anak namin, sinabi ko sa kampanya at ginagawa ko, talagang papatayin ko kayo,” he added.
Duterte emphasized that those people who can’t take all the things he’s saying were not even his problem.
“Ngayong dumating yung panahon na hindi niyo kayang lunukin lahat ng sinabi ko, problema na ninyo ‘yan. Hindi ko problema ‘yan,” he said.
Duterte, moreover, stressed that “the human rights of the criminals end where the survival of my country begins. Simple as that.”
“‘Yang ratings, maski mag-abot ako ng zero, wala ‘yan. May trabaho ako, zero zero plus, ganon pa rin, magta-trabaho ako kasi pinangako ko. Hindi ako yung sinabi mong pag maging unpopular ako… wala ‘yan. Kalokohan yan. Hindi ka lalaki nyan,” Duterte said.
“Kung ako’y makulong at mamatay dahil dyan, pasensiya. At ako nama’y lumigaya at nagawa lahat ng pinangako ko sa Pilipino, that is my personal satisfaction,” the president emphasized. | (Tretch Melarpes – PTV)
