Duterte slams Zarate anew, labels him a ‘hypocrite’

President Rodrigo Duterte hit Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Zarate anew on Monday night, calling him a “hypocrite” and a “chauvinist pig”, and dared to meet him in person.

This came after he expressed doubt on the claim of the party-list representative that the funding of his son’s education in Europe is provided by his mother.

“Ang lola mo tiningnan namin ang ano, matanda na wala namang propedad, walang income. Paano makagasto ng… ? (We checked the grandmother who is old and has no property and income. How can she spend [that much]?),” Duterte questioned.

“Huwag mo kaming bolahin. Baka kaya siguro ang ginagastos mo ‘yung perang kinokolekta ng mga NPA [New People’s Army] rito (Do not fool us. The money you are spending may be coming from the NPA collections),” he floated.

Pres. Duterte claimed that most of the collections of the NPA go to their leaders and described the ideology of Zarate as having “an incongruity” for acting like he hates the rich, tax evaders, and those who falsify properties.

“Wala raw silang pera. Ito si Zarate, nagpapaaral ng anak niya. Ang perang ginagamit, kasi wala namang ibang source of income. Tinitingnan namin oh bulto. Hinahanap namin ‘yan sa buhay mo (You claim that you don’t have money but send your child to school. The money used since there are no other sources is being looked into. It’s in bulk. We are looking for it in your life),” he warned.

Personal meeting

The Chief Executive told the opposition lawmaker to inform him through Senator Bong Go if he wants to talk.

“Kung lalaki ka talaga, tanggapin mo ang hamon ko. Saan mo gusto tayong magkita? Kung gusto mo bodyguard, isama mo na si Trillanes (If you are a man enough, accept my challenge. Where do you want to meet? If you want a bodyguard, bring Trillanes),” he dared.

“I will order my security people to go away. Bastos ka eh, may ginawa ka na bastos ka (You are rude and did something rude). Ang trabaho ng — tawag niyan (That is a work of a) chauvinist pig,” he added. – PTV News Online
