Economic workers in Central Luzon get jabbed against COVID-19

More than 500 economic workers under the A4 priority group were inoculated with their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in a symbolic vaccination held at the first satellite jab site at Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga on Tuesday (July 6).

Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III led the symbolic vaccination for the economic frontliners in Region III in a garment factory.

According to Duque, Pampanga performed successful management of their COVID-19 cases, because the province was placed under low risk classification following a -33% two-week growth rate in cases.

“Mababang-mababa po ito. Ang batayan po nito, anything that’s equivalent to or less than zero, which is a negative value, puts the [local government unit] or province in a low risk classification,” Duque said.

Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda said that tracing, isolation, and strict implementation of health and safety protocols were key to this achievement.

National Task Force deputy chief implementer Secretary Vince Dizon and Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque were also present at the event, where they announced that the national government has reached the 12 million mark of vaccine doses administered in the Philippines. – Report from Sweeden Velado-Ramirez / CF – jlo
