Eleazar is Calabarzon’s new top cop

MANILA — Former Quezon City Police District (QCPD) head, Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, formally assumed his new assignment as director of Police Regional Office 4-A (Calabarzon) Tuesday.

Eleazar, a native of Quezon province, took over the reins from outgoing PRO 4-A head, Director Ma-O R. Aplasca during a turnover ceremony held at Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba, Laguna.

Aplasca will be taking over as chief of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Directorate for Operations, which had been vacated by Director Camilo Cascolan when he was named as new head of the National Capital Region Police Office.

Cascolan replaces newly-appointed PNP Chief Oscar D. Albayalde.

Albayalde, Cascolan and former PNP chief Ronald dela Rosa are part of Philippine Military Academy Sinagtala Class of 1986. Eleazar and Aplasca are mistahs in the PMA “Hinirang” Class of 1987.

Chief Supt. Joselito T. Esquievel Jr., formerly of the PNP Directorate for Intelligence, replaces Eleazar as QCPD chief.

In his inaugural message, Eleazar warned leaders of criminal organization in the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon to cease their activities and vowed to go after rogue policemen using the plans for entrapment operations put up by the PNP Counter Intelligence Task Force .
