Eleazar tasks MPD to deploy more cops to Dolomite Beach

As thousands of people flocked to the Dolomite Beach at Manila Bay over the weekend, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar reiterated his reminder for persons to strictly observe minimum public health standards in all popular public hangouts.

Eleazar issued the reminder as he tasked the Manila Police District (MPD), headed by PBGEN Leo Francisco, to closely coordinate with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Dolomite beach administrators and the local government unit to possibly establish limits on the number of visitors and their length of stay.

The PNP Chief also directed the MPD to make sure that no super spreader event happens at the Dolomite beach.

Last Sunday, authorities temporarily stopped the entry of visitors when the crowd reached 4,000.

The PNP chief reiterated his appeal to the public to strictly observe the minimum health standards if they wished to go to the Dolomite beach or other public areas.

– bny

The PNP Chief pointed out, “Part of this self-discipline is making a conscious effort to strictly adhere to minimum public health standards and avoiding crowded areas where physical distancing would be almost impossible to observe.”

This self-discipline, according to PGen Eleazar, should be applied in all public places. (PNP-PIO) – bny
