Aspiring presidential candidates have pushed through with their activities before the upcoming national elections next year.
Vice President Leni Robredo challenges other aspirants to publicize their Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN).
“Ang panawagan natin na dapat iyong ibang mga kandidato at saka public officials ganoon din, kasi iyon naman iyong dahilan kung bakit required siya under the law,” Robredo said.
She also shared a message to those experiencing conflicts due to varying political views.
“Tayo na ang magsimula, lumapit sa mga nakaalitan. Kung may makita sa social media na hindi naayon sa mga pinaniniwalaan natin, magpaliwanag nang mahinahon at may respeto, magpakumbaba,” she advised.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said he believes that livelihood will help resolve the country’s problem on insurgency.
“Bigyan mo ng kapanatagan ‘yung tao na makapaghanapbuhay siya, may kuryente siyang hindi panaka-naka, mura ang bilihin,” he said.
The camp of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reiterated that they are not bothered by the petition seeking to cancel his candidacy.
“I’ve personally seen the documents for our defense and I’ve personally discussed them with our legal team who, along with some reputable and respectable legal experts, concluded without doubt that the petition to delist my name from the roster of applicants for the presidency is without merit and has no legal basis,” he said.
In Cebu, Senator Manny Pacquiao thanked his supporters and reiterated that he will not step back from his plan to end corruption. He also questioned inconsistent election plans of other candidates.
Meanwhile, Senator Panfilo Lacson said he is ready to present his platform in the upcoming presidential debates.
“These are unexpected questions testing the capability, competence and experience of each candidate. The final judge will be the people after the debate,” he said.
Senator Christopher Go, who recently filed for his candidacy over the weekend, said he will work to further introduce himself to the public amid his standing in presidential surveys. His running mate has yet to be announced.
“Personally po, wala po akong ibang pipiliin kundi si Mayor Inday Sara Duterte, ngunit mayroon ho kaming partido at proseso na dapat sundin, hintayin na lang po natin… Malaking bagay po ‘yun, kung sakaling susuportahan niya po ako,” he said. – Reports from Daniel Manalastas and Mela Lesmoras/AG-rir
