EU gives €2.3 M to support PH fight vs COVID-19

The European Union provided €2.3 million to the World Health Organization (WHO) to support the Philippines in its fight against Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to the WHO, the fund will be used to strengthen the diagnostic capacity, epidemiology surveillance, contact tracing management, and equitable vaccine distribution.

The first part of the signed 3-year grant has been released on January 2021. WHO Country Representative to the Philippines Dr. Rabindra Abeyasinghe revealed that the grant is “to help build the health system capacity and facilitate vaccine roll out”.
