Ex-cop, pal nabbed for drug peddling

COTABATO CITY — Police arrested here on Monday a former police officer and a cohort suspected of peddling illegal drugs during a law enforcement operation in Barangay Rosary Heights 9.

Chief Insp. Reynaldo Delantien, head of city police station 1, identified the suspect as Holdan Paisal, 43, former policeman assigned with the Datu Hofer police station in Maguindanao.

Delantien said police intelligence operatives were tailing Paisal, who was on board a pedicab, when seen giving a sachet of shabu to a man on board a motorbike along a diversion road in Barangay Rosary Heights 9 at around 4 p.m.

Paisal, together with the pedicab driver, identified as Khalil Macarandas, 46, were arrested on the spot.

“Paisal had long been included on the police drug watch list for his involvement in illegal drug trade,” Delantien said.

Police recovered from the suspects two huge sachets of suspected shabu.

The suspects did not resist arrest. (Edwin Fernandez/PNA)
