Ex-ES Orbos joins PTNI Board of Directors

Former Executive Secretary Oscar Orbos has joined the People’s Television Network, Inc. (PTNI) as Acting Chairperson and Member of the Board of Directors, representing the private sector.

Orbos’ oath-taking was administered by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin in Malacañang on Thursday, Oct. 3.

The new chairperson’s appointment was announced by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) in a social media post.

According to the PCO, Orbos served as executive secretary and secretary of Transportation and Communications under former President Corazon Aquino’s administration from 1990-1991.

Meanwhile, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has also appointed political analyst Antonio Contreras as Acting Vice Chairperson and Member of the PTNI Board of Directors, representing the education sector.

Contreras is also a segment host for Punto de Vista, aired at the People’s Television Network (PTV).

Other presidential appointments are: former PTNI general manager Katherine De Castro as Director General of the Philippine Information Agency and Atty. Francis Carlo Taparan as Director IV of the National Printing Office. —avds
