Ex-Oriental Mindoro Congressman dies at 63

Former Oriental Mindoro Congressman Reynaldo Umali passed away Thursday morning at the age of 63.

The news was confirmed by his brother Cong. Alfonso Umali in an interview. The late solon died of cardiac arrest at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. He was diagnosed with liver cancer before his death.

Former Rep. Rey Umali has also been infected with the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in December which aggravated his liver cancer from stage 3 to an immediate escalation to stage 4. He was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) on December 21 and intubated on December 26 before succumbing to the disease almost two weeks after. – Report from Daniel Manalastas
