The implementation of the expanded number coding scheme will be suspended on Monday, Aug. 21, the Manila Metropolitan Development Authority (MMDA) announced.

Aug. 21 is declared a special non-work holiday to commemorate the death anniversary of former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino.

The MMDA also advised the public to plan their trip accordingly and make sure their vehicles are in good condition before driving during the long weekend.

The expanded number coding scheme is implemented during rush hours, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

MMDA’s number coding scheme only covers private vehicles.
