Fake isopropyl alcohol seized in QC, suspect arrested

Seven drums of fake isopropyl alcohol were seized by Quezon City Police in a house in Brgy. Batasan Hills.

The police said the suspects dilute the alcohol with water and repack it by gallons which are sold online at Php 470 to Php 550 each.

A suspect is now in the custody of the QCPD and will face charges for violating RA No. 7394 or the Consumers Act of the Philippines.

The police assured the suspect has undergone primary medical checkup as a precaution against COVID-19 before he was subjected to an inquest.

The QCPD said they will still rove all over the city to warn and arrest passersby or citizens violating the rules of the enhanced community quarantine.

Some individuals who are mostly tricycle and motorcycle drivers have been arrested for trying to make a living amid the implementation of ECQ.

Although no case will be filed against them, they will still be brought to stations to be warned and lectured by the police.

There are currently 464 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Quezon City, with 33 deaths, 76 PUIs, and 416 PUMs.  – Report from Louisa Erispe
