Typhoon “Falcon” exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 1, the state weather bureau said.

“Falcon” is forecast to track west northwestward and begin decelerating as it approaches the waters southeast of Okinawa Islands.

The typhoon is likely to maintain its strength for the next 24 hours, but a period of weakening may begin late Wednesday or early Thursday.

The enhanced southwest monsoon or “habagat” will bring gusty conditions in Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, the central and southern portions of Aurora, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas.

A gale warning is also in effect over several coastal waters along the northern seaboard of northern Luzon. – cf
