FDA grants compassionate permit for ivermectin to 2 more hospitals

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted a compassionate special permit to two more hospitals for the use of ivermectin on covid-19 patients.

However, the FDA did not name the hospitals. There are now five hospitals in the country with a compassionate permit to use the drug.

The FDA reiterated that there is still no concrete evidence that ivermectin can treat covid-19. In relation to this, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) earlier announced that the drug will undergo clinical trials in the Philippines to learn its effect against covid-19.
