PACC to file raps vs corrupt officials next week

The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) reiterated that it is prepared to file charges against government employees involved in corrupt practices.

In today’s (April 27) Laging Handa public briefing, PACC Chairperson Greco Belgica said that among the individuals who will be charged are assistant secretaries and regional directors. He said they will file the charges in the Office of the Ombudsman next week.

“Pagkabukas na pagkabukas ng Ombudsman, we will start filing cases. Marami na po kaming nakabangko. Every week, we are planning to file cases.”

Meanwhile, Belgica announced that they have created a task force on lifestyle checks to monitor government employees who have questionable lifestyles or “unexplained wealth.”

“Kaya po namin napagpasyahan na buuin [ito] para doon po natin sila madadali. If they have money, properties way beyond their SALN, and way beyond their means, they can be held liable for unexplained wealth.”
