Ferries allowed to operate in areas under GCQ

Ferries have been permitted to operate in areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

Philippine Ports Authority General Manager Jay Daniel Santiago stated that only 50 percent of passengers are allowed to board the ferry to ensure the implementation of proper social distancing and prevention of the spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

He added that this is the “New Normal” for the operation of ferries. They also need to implement the health protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

PPA GM Santiago also clarified that the quarantine facility at the Eva Macapagal Terminal in Pier 15 will still operate.
