Limited entry of OFWs starts on May 9

The number of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) permitted to enter the Philippines will be limited after the suspension of inbound flights is lifted.

According to National Task Force Against COVID-19 spokesperson Major General Restituto Padilla, only 400 to 500 OFWs per day will be allowed to enter the country starting May 9 until May 11. The number will increase to 500 to 700 OFWs or 4 flights per day on May 12 to May 18.

1,000 to 2, 000 OFWs per day were allowed entry before the suspension of flights.

The inbound flights in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) have been suspended to decongest quarantine facilities for OFWs.
