Filipina dies after falling from employer’s flat in Saudi: DFA

MANILA — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Saturday reported that a Filipina household service worker in Madinah, Saudi Arabia died Friday after she fell from the sixth-floor flat of her employer.

Quoting Consul General to Jeddah Edgar Badajos, the DFA said authorities are still investigating the death of the Filipina domestic helper on Friday afternoon.

The Filipina, whose name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, was brought to the hospital at about 3:30 p.m. but died shortly from head injuries.

Badajos immediately dispatched a team from the Consulate General that will coordinate with authorities investigating the case.

As of posting, no information was available on when the Filipina worker’s body would be repatriated. (PNA)
