Fire hits mall in Quezon City

A fire hit a commercial department store in Aurora Blvd., Quezon City late Monday (March 14) afternoon.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported that the fire started at around 5:02 p.m. Responders arrived at the scene at 5:11 p.m.

The fire started on the building’s third floor. Authorities have yet to identify the cause. 

According to the BFP, one establishment or stall was burned, while one individual who inhaled smoke from the second floor was rescued.

The fire was placed under control at 6:05 p.m. and put out at 8:40 p.m. Authorities initially estimated the worth of damages at around P8 million. – Report from Gillian Geronimo/AG-rir
