Floods, heavy rains death toll rises to 30

The death toll due to heavy rains and floods brought by shear line has hit 30, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Wednesday, Jan.18.

According to NDRRMC’s latest situational report, the seven recorded casualties are from Eastern Visayas, five from Zamboanga Peninsula, two from Northern Mindanao, and one from Davao Region.

Thirteen were reported injured while five persons remain missing.

The total number of families affected by flooding and inclement weather increased to 387,433 families or 1,576,069 individuals in 2,148 barangays. – gb
