Foreigner arrested for alleged human trafficking

The National Bureau of Investigation-International Operations Division (NBI-IOD) arrested a Chinese national for alleged human trafficking activities in Pasay.

The suspect, identified as Wen Fangfang, was arrested in an entrapment operation after receiving information that a group of foreign nationals were engaged in human trafficking through online activities in several condominiums in Pasay.

The suspect was charged for violating Republic Act (RA) 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.

According to their investigation, the suspect and his team were posting pictures of women with prices on telegram to entice foreign nationals to book them.

NBI-IOD conducted several stakeout, casing, and internet surveillance where it revealed that the suspect operated on several condominium units in Diosdado in Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay.

The suspect was brought to the NBI-IOD for inquest proceedings for violation of RA 9208. – gb
