Former child actor nabbed in Quezon City drug bust

MANILA – Caloocan police arrested a former child actor along with a suspected drug pusher in an anti-drug operation in Quezon City on Tuesday night.

In a report to Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, regional director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Caloocan City police chief Senior Supt. Restituto Archanghel said Cromell John Ocampo Ramos, also known as CJ Ramos, 31, of 799C Carnes St., Tandang Sora, Quezon City was arrested in the operation.

Authorities recovered from Ramos a transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu” which he purchased from a drug pusher who was the actual target of the operation.

Ramos was transacting with Louvella Gilen, 36, of B-3 Morning Star Drive Sanville Subdivision, Quezon City at about 10:50 p.m. last July 31 when police operatives pounced on the two suspects.

Gilen also yielded a transparent plastic sachet containing a substance suspected to be shabu, worth PHP500, while handing over the drugs to a police poseur buyer who was with a confidential informant.

The suspects, who are not on the drug watch list, have been charged with violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

They are currently detained at the Caloocan City Police Station awaiting trial. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
