Palace confirms that a shorter quarantine period for fully vaccinated inbound international travellers to the Philippines will take effect on Tuesday (June 22).
The date of effectivity of the protocols for all individuals who already completed two COVID-19 vaccine shots in the Philippines was initially scheduled on June 16, according to Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Resolution No. 120 approved on June 10.
According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the effectivity date was moved as the Department of Information and Communications Technology had to fix its system programming for the verification of vaccination cards.
“Ito po iyong automated vaccination data base na kinakailangang patakbuhin para may basehan para mag-authenticate ng mga Certificate of Vaccination na i-pi-prisinta sa Bureau of Quarantine,” Roque said in a public briefing on Monday (June 21).
All fully vaccinated inbound international travellers will have to comply with a seven-day facility quarantine. If there would be no COVID-19 symptoms, individuals will not have to undergo RT-PCR testing.
This shorter quarantine period will become effective at 1:00 a.m. on June 22. –rir
