Gen. Cascolan officially takes over as PNP Chief

Police Lieutenant General Camilo Cascolan officially takes over as the new Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the Change of Command Ceremony at Camp Crame Wednesday.

PLt.Gen. Cascolan has gladly accepted the responsibilities and challenges as he takes on the helm of the police force and set his priority in boosting morale within its ranks.

“I will lead the PNP along with the vision of a highly capable, effective and credible PNP that provides better and more reliable, more efficient and more effective police services.”
He trusts that the PNP will regain the public’s trust amidst controversies surrounding the institution. He also asks for the continuous cooperation of the public for the PNP to properly perform its duty. “We will do what is right, we will do what is proper and we will do what is just.”

Meanwhile, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año believes in the ability of Gen. Cascolan.

“I am confident that with your equally remarkable knowledge, skills and reputation you will do your best to charting a clearer race ahead not only for the PNP but for the nation as a whole.”

Malacañang has pointed out the short term PLt.Gen. Cascolan will be serving as PNP Chief since he is set to retire on November 10 but the Palace trusts he will fulfill his duties ably.
