Gerry’s-Diliman defense caps rally to zap SMDC-NU

MANILA — Gerry’s Grill-Diliman College completed a turnaround from 12 points down to a 12-point win against SMDC-NU, 82-70, in the PBA D-League at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on Thursday.

The Blue Dragons took over in the second half, limiting the Bulldogs to only 13 points in the third quarter and 14 in the fourth.

“The defense made this win for us,” said Coach Rensy Bajar.

Joseph Brutas, on the other hand, scored three straight triples to spark Gerry’s-Diliman’s breakaway.

Kilala ko yung puso ng batang yan (I know the heart of that kid),” Coach Rensy Bajar said about Brutas, one of four Blue Dragons in double figures.

Kevin Gandjeto top-scored for them with 16 markers alongside 13 rebounds as they moved up to 2-2.

John Lloyd Clemente fired a game-high 22 points with six boards for the Bulldogs, who fell to 0-4.
