Globe boosts relief efforts, fund drive for hard-hit Cagayan, Isabela, Catanduanes and Marikina

As of November 17 (4PM) — Globe has been extending various relief efforts in highly impacted areas of Typhoons Rolly and Ulysses which include Catanduanes, Cagayan, Marikina and Isabela. A total of 5,000 families will receive meal packs, with 3,000 in Cagayan and 2,000 in Isabela, through the help of Puregold. Puregold is the exclusive partner of Globe for prepaid products. In Catanduanes, 1,000 families will receive relief packs as well. GCash also raised a total of P17,555,163.90 via customer donations through its GCash bills payment channel in aid of the victims of the typhoon.

Over the last few days, the telco company has provided meal boxes from Rise Against Hunger to 1,800 families in affected areas including 916 families in evacuation centers in Marikina with the help of the local government unit of Marikina and Manila Water Foundation.

Previously, the company provided free unlimited texts to all networks and free calls for Globe Prepaid and TM customers for three days in all affected areas including Catanduanes. For Globe Postpaid, credit action was put on hold until the end of the week to give customers more time to pay their bills.

Since October this year, Globe has helped nearly 15,000 families with relief support.  Millions of customers have also benefited from connectivity and free services aside from other forms of donations.
