Globe installs new cell site, 635 site upgrades in Quezon City

Aside from its aggressive network roll out in the provinces, Globe has also expanded its capability and connectivity in Quezon City.

The company has put up 32 new towers in several key barangays in Quezon City in the past three months

“Quezon City remains one of the highly-urbanized cities not only in Metro Manila but also in the whole country as well. It is also where a big number of our customers are and their need for connectivity is always on the rise. Our current expansion is our way of meeting this demand and hopefully these installations will pave the way for more tower builds for the rest of the year and in the first half of 2021,” Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group, said.

Agustin says the new installations will cover big and densely populated barangays in Quezon City to include Tandang Sora, Matandang Balara, Pinyahan, Ramon Magsaysay, Santa Lucia, Balong Bato, Batasan Hills, Commonwealth, Dona Josefa, Escopa IV, Gulod, Kamuning, Loyola Heights, N.S. Amoranto and Nagkaisang Nayon.

New network rollouts were also done in North Fairview, Paltok, Quirino 2-A, San Agustin, San Isidro, Sangandaan, Santa Cruz, Santo Nino, Tatalon and in UP Campus in Diliman.

Quezon City is the largest and most populous city in Metro Manila and in the whole country as well. It has a land area of 64.17 square miles with 142 barangays divided into six Congressional districts. Quezon City had at least 2,936,116 residents in 2015.

Globe has also made 635 site upgrades to support its LTE capacity and to provide more coverage to address the needs of its customers in the city.
