Gov’t creates COVID-19 immunization body; allows physical UP-PGH internship

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Friday announced that the IATF-EID has established a COVID-19 Immunization Program Management Organizational Structure in preparation for the anticipated arrival of COVID-19 vaccines in the country.

“Ito po ay pamumunuan ng DOH [Department of Health]. Ito po ay mapapasailalim sa NTF on COVID-19 (This will be headed by the Department of Health. This will be under the NTF on COVID-19),” Roque elaborated.

The directive added that the DOH must “immediately convene the Task Group COVID-19 Immunization Management and establish such sub-task groups” when needed to “ensure successful and efficient employment” of the vaccine.

The government has also allowed the face-to-face clinical internship program of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine to resume at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

Based on the newly released IATF-EID Resolution No. 82, the physical clinical internship program of the UP-PGH “shall be allowed to resume as an exception in the application of the pertinent provisions” of omnibus guidelines on COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the quarantine classifications announced earlier this week which were subject to appeal have already been finalized.

“Nasa ilalim po ngayon ng GCQ ang (Those under GCQ are) Metro Manila, Batangas, Iloilo City, Bacolod City, Tacloban City, Iligan City, at (and) Lanao Del Sur,” Roque summed up. – PTV News Online
