Groundbreaking held for first Visayas Media Hub

The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) on Thursday, Feb. 24, led the groundbreaking ceremony of the first-ever Visayas Media Hub in Mandaue City which will soon house government media stations.

The PCOO said the four-story facility, with an estimated funding of almost P300 million, will serve as the main broadcaster of government media entities for Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and Western Visayas.

In a prerecorded message, President Rodrigo Duterte congratulated the PCOO and welcomed the “creation of this new facility and its state-of-the-art equipment that will boost government’s communication service across the country.”

“I am certain that this hub will be a beacon of excellence as we modernize our government media for the improved welfare of our people in the Visayas and the rest of the nation,” he said.


The ceremony for the facility which is among the current administration’s flagship projects “to promote effective government communication operations” was led by PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar.

Once completed, the media hub will be the home of PCOO Attached Agencies such as the People’s Television Network, Philippine Broadcasting Service, Philippine Information Agency, Philippine News Agency, and Presidential Broadcast Staff – Radio Television Malacañang.
