Gun licensing caravan set in San Carlos City

SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan — Gun owners and holders in Pangasinan province can renew or apply for their License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) when the Regional Civil Security Unit (RCSU) of Police Regional Office 1 (Ilocos) holds an LTOPF caravan at the Arenas-Resuello Gym here on August 29.

In an interview on Friday, San Carlos City police chief, Supt. Ferdinand de Asis, urged gun owners and holders of this city and its neighboring towns and cities to avail of the services to be offered during the caravan.

“They can apply for or renew their LTOPF without going to Camp Crame or in PRO-1 in San Fernando, La Union, so they can save time and money for fare,” de Asis said.

He said the caravan can accommodate a maximum of 200 applicants. “We are expecting not less than 80 applicants,” he added.

Applicants are advised to secure the requirements before the caravan and ensure that all documents to be submitted are the original copy.

The other requirements — application forms, police clearance, drug test result and gun safety certificate — will be available during the caravan, de Asis noted.

He added that the permit will be available after two weeks to one month, depending on the number of applicants in the caravan. (Hilda Austria/PNA)
