HoR OKs medical scholarship bill on final reading

The House of Representatives on Monday approved on third and final reading a bill that aims to grant full scholarship to deserving medical students.

House Bill No. 6756 or An Act Establishing a Medical Scholarship and Return Service for deserving students got 245 affirmative votes.

Cagayan de Oro City Rep. Rufus Rodriguez said this is a government measure to address the lack of physicians and medical workers in the country.

The bill covers free tuition fee, book allowance and other needed equipment, and other benefits for scholars.
