MANILA – Hot and humid weather will prevail over the Visayas and Mindanao but rain showers will dampen some parts of Luzon due to the northeast monsoon (amihan) on Tuesday (Oct. 26) according to the weather bureau.

In its 4:00 a.m. weather advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Cagayan Valley and Cordillera regions, the provinces of Aurora, Quezon, Camarines, and Catanduanes will experience rains due to the northeast monsoon.

PAGASA weather forecaster Chris Perez said a cooler temperature is expected as the northeast monsoon sets in.

“Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience generally fair weather, with isolated rains and at times thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon or evening,” he said.

The Visayas and Mindanao may still experience isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.

Gale warning is in effect over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon, as moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.

Meanwhile, Perez said two weather disturbances outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) are being monitored — a tropical depression (TD) and Tropical Storm Malou, have no direct effect on the country.

“Malou” is not expected to enter PAR, while the TD will make landfall over Vietnam.

Perez said no tropical cyclone is expected to affect the country for the next two to three days. (PNA) – bny
