House Speaker Cayetano urges IATF for clearer answers

House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano has urged the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to send a clearer message on the issues of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

One of the issues that House Speaker Cayetano mentioned is whether or not there would be an extension of the enhanced community quarantine. The IATF members reportedly gave differing answers.

According to the House Speaker, the task force must have one standpoint to avoid confusing the public.

Meanwhile, Congress has appointed members of the Joint Congressional Oversight Committee that includes House Speaker Cayetano, Deputy Speaker Lray Villafuerte, House Appropriations Committee Chairperson Eric Yap, and House Minority Leader Benny Abante.

The committee is tasked to review the implementation of “Bayanihan to Heal as One Act” in the government’s ongoing battle with COVID-19. – Report from Daniel Manalastas
