House to discuss Anti-Fake News Bill

The House Committee on Public Information has decided to discuss the proposed penalty for the spread of fake news.

The Committee will particularly tackle the exact definition of “Fake news” and all the grounds covered by the matter. The discussion also includes how fake news applies to different types of media.

The hearing will also include the current laws against fake news.

It has been assured the proposed penalty is for the welfare and right of the public.

The Committee will also call on representatives of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google and Viber to gather their opinions on spreading fake news.
