Humid weather, high chance of thunderstorms across PH Thursday

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

Most areas in the country will experience humid weather and high chances of thunderstorms, the weather bureau said Thursday, June 9.

The frontal system affecting extreme northern Luzon will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast flash floods or landslides are likely due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rains.

“No weather disturbance is currently affecting the country,” Samuel Duran of PAGASA said.

The rest of Luzon will experience humid weather, with high chances of thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

The temperature could reach up to 36 °C in Tuguegarao; and 33 °C in Metro Manila and Legazpi. The maximum temperature in Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro is 32 °C.

“The Visayas and Mindanao will also have humid weather, and high chances of thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening,” Duran said.

The temperature in Tacloban, Cebu, Davao, and Zamboanga could reach up to 33 °C.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail over the entire archipelago. (PNA)  – ag
