IATF-EID is set to release final GCQ guidelines

The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) is scheduled to release the final guidelines on the general community quarantine which will start on May 1 in other areas of the Philippines not under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the IATF-EID is holding a meeting to thoroughly discuss the welfare of every sector. He has assured that he will announce the decisions of the task force in his press briefing on Thursday.

Presidential Spokesperson Roque explained that authorities are strictly securing not only the health of the public but their rights as well.

Roque raised the incident in Quezon City involving a fish vendor and barangay personnel has reached the palace.

“Tiwala po kami na magkakaroon ng patas at mabilisang imbestigasyon si Mayor Joy Belmonte. Tayo po ay nagpapatupad ng ECQ para itaguyod ang karapatang mabuhay, at puwede pong ipatupad ito within sa tinatawag nating rule of law. (We trust that Mayor Joy Belmonte will have a fair and speedy investigation. We are implementing the ECQ to pursue the right to live and it can be implemented within the rule of law.)” Sec. Roque pointed out.
