IATF-EID to recommend December quarantine recommendation

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) is set to come up with a recommendation for new quarantine classifications for the remaining part of the year.

Malacañang earlier announced that members of the IATF-EID have convened with President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday morning in Davao City for their regular meeting on COVID-19 response.

“Inaasahan natin na itong linggong ito ay magkakaroon ng presentasyon ng mga datos doon sa IATF nang magkaroon na ng rekomendasyon ang IATF sa ating presidente (We are expecting a data presentation at the IATF this week to come up with a recommendation to the president),” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque disclosed.

President Duterte will address the nation anew later on Monday after the said meeting.

Meanwhile, Sec. Roque reiterated that the “poorest of the poor” will be prioritized by the administration in the country’s COVID-19 vaccination.

“Iyan po ang sinabi ng presidente. Gagastusan natin iyong bakuna ng mga mahihirap, ng frontliners natin, ng ating kasundaluhan at ng ating kapulisan (That’s what the president said. We will shoulder the expenses for the vaccination of the poor, frontliners, and our military and police),” he stated. – Report from Mela Lesmoras, PTV News Online
