IATF: No need for face masks if driver is alone

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) clarified that there is no need to wear a face mask inside a vehicle if the driver is alone.

According to IATF Co-chair and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, even if a car is an enclosed space, there will be no transmission if the driver is alone. The Department of Health (DOH) also shared the same viewpoint on the issue.

CabSec. Nograles then reiterated not to forget the minimum public health standards especially in interacting with another individual.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) assured that there will still be no violations on the matter since the guidelines are still to be discussed by the IATF-EID. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
