CEBU CITY — Combined forces from the Carmen Police Station and the 703rd Maneuver Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion-7 (RMFB-7) raided an illegal firearms factory in Carmen, Cebu on Monday afternoon.

Led by Chief Insp. Christian Torres of Carmen Police and Senior Insp. Philip Libres of RMFB-7, the raid was carried out at 3 p.m. in Barangay Corte, Carmen, but authorities failed to make an arrest as the factory owner and his gunsmith sons were able to escape.

The suspects who are still at large were identified as Ludivino “Ludy” Lumen and his sons Noel and Ranilo, all of legal age and residents of Barangay Corte, Carmen, Cebu.

Recovered from the factory were six pieces of unfinished upper receiver for an unknown caliber pistol, three unfinished handgun barrels, two unfinished .45-caliber magazines, a .22-cal. rifle, and assorted tools for firearms manufacturing.

The pieces of evidence recovered from the factory were brought to the Carmen Police Station for proper disposition.

A case will be filed against the illegal firearms manufacturer and his sons for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.”

The Police Regional Office – 7 said on Tuesday that the RMFB-7 and Carmen Police are conducting a manhunt operation against the three suspects. (PNA)
