Malacañang on Tuesday expressed elation over the international recognition the country’s beaches received as two of Mimaropa’s stunning coastal destinations landed among the “World’s 50 Best Beaches 2025” list.

Entalula Beach in El Nido, Palawan ranked No. 2, while Bon Bon Beach in Romblon placed No. 38 in the list that recognizes the world’s best beach destinations. In 2024, Entalula Beach stood at 4th place, while Bon Bon Beach landed at the 45th spot.

The World’s 50 Best Beaches website described Entalula Beach as Palawan’s “overlooked slice of heaven” due to its seclusion and natural beauty.

“Accessible only by boat, Entalula adds an element of adventure and exclusivity to any visit. Its striking natural features and tranquil atmosphere make it a coveted spot for relaxation and appreciating nature,” it said, noting the Entalula’s striking limestone cliffs and white, sandy shores.

The “laid-back, undeveloped paradise” of Bon Bon Beach, meanwhile, is regarded for its unique sandbar visible during low tide that allows visitors to walk across the shallow waters to the neighboring Bangug Island.

“As a lesser-known destination, Bon Bon Beach offers a quiet retreat compared to more tourist-heavy spots, so much so that often you could have this beach all to yourself,” the international website added.

In a press briefing, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the global recognition affirmed the country’s standing as a premier beach destination.

“Ang pagkilalang ito ay patunay na kahanga-hanga ang ganda ng Pilipinas at sa ating global standing bilang isa sa mga ipinagmamalaking beach destination sa buong mundo,” Castro said.

The Palace official also reiterated the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) commitment to promoting sustainable tourism in the country, aligned with the administration’s goals under the National Tourism Development Plan and through the “Love the Philippines” campaign.
