Isabela gov to send humanitarian mission to Marawi City

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — The local chief executive of this province has expressed intent to support the national government’s efforts to rebuild war-torn Marawi City.

Jessie James Geronimo, Provincial Information Officer, said Gov. Faustino G. Dy III, who also sits as the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) chair, will deploy a humanitarian mission in Marawi City to help in the restoration and rehabilitation of destroyed buildings in the city.

Geronimo said the humanitarian mission will be composed of engineers, carpenters, laborers or construction workers, among others.

The move was agreed upon by all governors of provinces in Region 2 during the RPOC meeting held recently in Tuguegarao City.

“Gov. Dy has urged the other local chief executives of Cagayan Valley to support Bangon Marawi,” Geronimo said. (PNA)
