Isolated rain showers to prevail across PH Friday

Most parts of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms, the weather bureau said on Friday, July 15.

“We are not expecting a low-pressure area or tropical cyclone until the weekend,” weather forecaster Benison Estareja of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in the bureau’s 5 a.m. weather bulletin.

Estareja, however, said at least two tropical cyclones are still expected in the country this July.

On Friday, PAGASA forecast the southwest monsoon to cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Western Visayas.

Flash floods or landslides are likely during moderate to at times heavy rains, it warned.

Sunny weather is expected over Metro Manila, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be experienced mostly in the western section of Luzon.

The rest of the country will also experience isolated rain showers, likely in the afternoon or evening.

A temperature range of up to 35°C is forecast in Tuguegarao and up to 33°C is expected in Metro Manila and Legazpi.

The temperature could reach 33°C in Davao and Zamboanga; 32°C in Tacloban and Cebu; and 31°C in Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will continue to prevail over the western section of Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
