Junior high school students showcased their robotics genius

The Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI), in its drive to encourage Filipino students to take up science, technology, engineering, and mathematics; and information and communications technology courses, hosted a robotics competition in the Philippine International Convention Center for junior high school students. The pupils who participated in the contest enthusiastically exhibited their talents in creating and operating the robots they invented. Some of the schools where the young robotics wizards came from were Makati Science High School, Valenzuela City School of Mathematics and Science, Malabon National High School, and Caloocan National Science and Technology High School. The DOST-SEI noted that the Filipino youth are less interested in science and technology courses.
