Ombudsman to investigate corruption in the Bureau of Corrections

Ombudsman Samuel Martires has ordered the investigation of Bureau of Corrections officials concerning the release of prisoners under the GCTA Law. Armed with the mandate to prioritize complaints involving grave offenses, a group of investigators has been deployed to obtain pertinent information. The Ombudsman insisted that this case is under its jurisdiction and no other agencies may investigate unless allowed by the Office.
